Maltese MPs discuss human rights and equality at Commonwealth meetings

Deputy Speaker David Agius, together with MPs Graziella Attard Previ and Davina Sammut Hili, represented Malta at the 41st Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Small Branches Conference and the 9th Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians.
Agius highlighted the impact of colonialism on human rights and called for global action on Gaza and Ukraine. Attard Previ urged the repeal of colonial-era laws criminalising same-sex relations, stressing that LGBTIQ rights are human rights. Sammut Hili emphasised mental health and work-life balance for MPs, noting that a healthy parliamentarian leads to a stronger parliament.
