Collective agreement with greater benefits for the workers of the Maltese Medicines Authority

A collective agreement was signed between the Maltese Medicines Authority and the UħM which will see an improvement in the conditions and salaries for the Authority's workers which will be in force until 2027.

 

The collective agreement was signed by the Chief Executive of the Maltese Medicines Authority Prof. Anthony Serracino Inglott and the Director of UħM Voice of the Workers Mario Sacco. The signing took place in the presence of the Minister for Health and Active Aging Jo Etienne Abela who said that the new agreement will create a better environment for the workers to continue improving the service they provide to the public.

"This is an important collective agreement for the Authority's workers including pharmacists, scientists and administrative workers, where he will see an improvement in the working conditions of the workers," said Minister Jo Etienne Abela while reiterating that this is one of a series of other agreements that have been concluded in recent months.

The CEO Prof. Anthony Serracino Inglott said, "Through this collective agreement we are showing appreciation for the valuable work done by the Authority's workers, where part of their work is to ensure that there are a number of medicines accessible in our country and to be of the highest quality."

The conclusion of the negotiations between the UħM and the Maltese Medicines Authority, with the valuable contribution of the Ministry for Health and Active Aging and the Division for People and Standards within the Office of A Prime Minister reflects a collective dedication. This Collective Agreement further fosters a supportive and flexible work environment that offers an appropriate balance between work and family.

 

The new agreement includes an improved financial package together with measures that include opportunities for employees to reach the fullness of competence from the point of view of education and practice based on principles of equality.
