Putin Visits North Korea to Strengthen Military Ties

Russian President Vladimir Putin is commencing a two-day visit to North Korea, highlighting the growing military relationship between the two nations. As the conflict in Ukraine continues, Russia's demand for artillery, missiles, and rockets has surged, and North Korea has ample supplies to offer.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has found new opportunities amid the Ukraine war, visiting Russia in September to inspect space and military facilities, indicating Russia's potential to provide coveted technology to North Korea. Putin has suggested that Russia could assist North Korea in launching spy satellites, which Kim intends to use for monitoring military targets.

Despite both nations denying involvement in arms trading, such activities remain prohibited under U.N. sanctions.
