Euro Area Annual Inflation Expected to Dip Slightly to 2.5% in June

Annual inflation in the euro area is projected to be 2.5% in June 2024, a slight decrease from 2.6% in May, according to a flash estimate from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.


Among the main components of euro area inflation, services are expected to have the highest annual rate in June at 4.1%, remaining stable compared to May. This is followed by food, alcohol, and tobacco at 2.5%, down from 2.6% in May. Non-energy industrial goods are anticipated to have an annual rate of 0.7%, stable compared to May, and energy is projected at 0.2%, slightly down from 0.3% in May.
