Southport in Mourning After Knife Attack at Dance Class

The northern English seaside town of Southport is grieving after a third child died following a knife attack at a local dance class. Five children and two adults remain in critical condition as the community grapples with the aftermath of the tragic event.

A 17-year-old boy from a nearby village, arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, is still being held for questioning. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, though police have indicated it is not believed to be terror-related, and no additional suspects are being sought.

The dance class, inspired by the music of Taylor Swift, has drawn international attention. Swift expressed her profound sorrow on social media, stating, "I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families." Prime Minister Keir Starmer also visited Southport to offer his condolences to the victims and their families.
