Hezbollah Evacuates Beirut Headquarters Amid Rising Tensions

Hezbollah has reportedly begun evacuating its headquarters in Beirut as tensions escalate in the region. This move follows recent threats from Iran, which has declared its "right to an appropriate and deterrent response" against Israel. Iran's stance comes amid calls from France, Germany, and the U.K. for restraint to avoid jeopardizing ongoing cease-fire talks in Gaza.

In response to the mounting threat, the U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has ordered the deployment of a guided missile submarine to the Middle East. This decision underscores growing concerns about a possible large-scale attack on Israel, as indicated by U.S. intelligence.

Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant dismissed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s "total victory" rhetoric as "nonsense," emphasizing the need for realistic military strategies and the protection of hostages. The Israeli military is on high alert as Hezbollah has fired rockets into northern Israel, and the ongoing conflict in Gaza continues to claim lives.

Lufthansa and Swiss International Airlines have extended their suspension of flights to several Middle Eastern destinations, including Tel Aviv and Beirut, until August 21 due to the escalating conflict.
