Zelensky Urges West to Abandon 'Red Lines' on Weapon Use

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is leveraging his military's unexpected incursion into Russia to urge Western allies to lift restrictions on using long-range weapons. In a speech on Monday, Zelensky argued that Western fears of repercussions from strikes on Russian soil have proven unfounded, calling for an end to the "naïve" concept of red lines.

Zelensky emphasized that Moscow's weak response to Ukraine's offensive should dispel any lingering perceptions of Russia as a formidable superpower. "The world is shedding its last and very naïve illusions about Russia," he declared.
