Israel and Hezbollah Escalate Cross-Border Strikes Amid Stalled Diplomacy

Israel and Hezbollah engaged in a series of cross-border strikes yesterday, escalating tensions in the already volatile region. The Israeli military targeted Hezbollah weapon-storage facilities, resulting in at least one fatality and 30 injuries, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry. In retaliation, Hezbollah struck an Israeli base in the Golan Heights, causing at least one injury, as reported by Israeli authorities.

These developments come as diplomatic efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict in Gaza have hit a deadlock. Despite a new U.S.-backed proposal, both Israeli and Hamas officials remain skeptical, each accusing the other of undermining peace talks by introducing new demands.
