Kamala Harris Accepts Democratic Nomination, Warns Against Trump’s Return

Vice President Kamala Harris formally accepted the Democratic Party's nomination for president, delivering a speech that called for unity while warning against the dangers of Donald Trump returning to the White House. Harris emphasized the nation's chance to move beyond divisiveness and cautioned that Trump's regained power, particularly after the Supreme Court's ruling on his immunity from criminal prosecution, could have severe consequences.

In her speech, Harris shared personal stories, including her motivation to become a prosecutor, stemming from a desire to protect vulnerable individuals like a high school friend who was a victim of sexual assault. This address marks the beginning of an intense 74-day campaign leading up to Election Day.

Meanwhile, Trump focused on immigration during a visit to Arizona, subtly acknowledging his 2020 election defeat by noting that he received more votes than in his first campaign but "didn’t quite make it."
