Israel and Hezbollah Avoid Full-Scale War, But Conflicts Persist

After weeks of heightened tensions, a full-scale war between Israel and Hezbollah has been averted as both sides have scaled back to more contained confrontations along the Israel-Lebanon border. Despite the easing of immediate hostilities, anxiety lingers, and hundreds of thousands of people in both Israel and Lebanon have been displaced by the ongoing conflict.

Although the immediate threat has lessened, Israel's prolonged conflicts with Hezbollah and Hamas in Gaza show no signs of resolution. The direction of these conflicts heavily relies on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, both of whom are reluctant to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza under terms they view as unfavorable, fearing it could jeopardize their political standing.
