President Biden is reportedly close to approving Ukraine’s use of long-range Western weapons to target sites deep inside Russia, though on the condition that the arms do not come from U.S. supplies. European officials suggest that the issue will be a key topic during Biden's meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Washington today.
The U.K. has already expressed its desire to allow Ukraine to use long-range missiles and seeks Biden's approval to present a united front alongside France and the U.S. If authorized, the move could bolster Ukraine's defense efforts following its territorial gains. Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that such a decision would prompt a strong response, stating, “This will mean that NATO countries are at war with Russia.”
