Israel Strikes Hezbollah in Retaliation for Threats

Israel launched a series of airstrikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon just hours after the group’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, warned of retribution for recent attacks involving Israeli interception of Hezbollah's communications. Lebanese officials reported more than 70 Israeli airstrikes, with the Israeli military stating they targeted around 100 Hezbollah rocket launchers and other sites.

Despite the intensity, the strikes were not seen as a move toward full-scale war, as there were no immediate reports of casualties, and major population centers were largely spared. The strikes occurred as Nasrallah delivered a speech accusing Israel of violating international laws and vowing revenge.
