Dr Anġlu Farrugia, Speaker of the House of Representatives, welcomed Ervin Ibrahimovic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of Montenegro, for a courtesy visit at the Parliament today. The meeting highlighted the strengthening of bilateral relations between Malta and Montenegro and reaffirmed the importance of collaboration in various sectors.
During their discussions, Speaker Farrugia reiterated Malta’s long-standing support for European Union enlargement, emphasising the critical role that Montenegro plays in this process. He urged Montenegro to continue its path of reform, stressing that these efforts are essential for accelerating the country’s European integration prospects.
Both leaders exchanged views on regional issues, acknowledging the necessity of maintaining stability and cooperation in the Balkans.
