Senior citizens took part in a public consultation meeting focusing on the planned national park at White Rocks, as part of the ongoing Shape Your Space initiative. The meeting was led by Minister for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness Miriam Dalli together with the Project Green team.

Participants shared memories linked to the site’s past use as British barracks, as well as ideas for its future transformation into a national park. Several attendees highlighted the importance of creating accessible community spaces where families can gather, while proposals included improved accessibility by sea, public facilities, inclusive design, and a designated dog area.

Minister Miriam Dalli stressed the importance of public participation throughout the planning process, stating that these parks are being shaped by and for the people. Project Green COO Beverley Costa reiterated that the consultation aims to gather input from all age groups to ensure the projects reflect the needs of the wider community.

The consultation forms part of a wider process that has already involved young people, architecture students, and local councils. Members of the public can continue to submit their ideas online through the official consultation platform.
