ITS Opens Second Tourism Education Campus in China Malta’s ITS expands with new satellite tourism campus in Zhengzhou, China

The Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) has opened a second satellite campus in China, this time in Zhengzhou, through a strategic partnership with Zhengzhou Tourism College.

Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg inaugurated the new campus during an official visit to China. The ITS Zhengzhou campus will offer a three-year, full-time Tourism and Hospitality Management programme, initially enrolling 40 students annually. Graduates will earn dual diplomas accredited both in China and Malta (MQF Level 5).

Dr Borg highlighted how this move supports ITS’s Strategic Plan 2020–2025 and strengthens its role as a global leader in tourism education. The collaboration enhances bilateral ties and supports student exchanges while raising educational quality for both Maltese and Chinese students.

ITS CEO Pierre Fenech said this development follows the 2024 success of ITS’s first Chinese campus in Shanghai, now preparing for its second intake. The new campus is part of Malta’s broader commitment to global vocational excellence.
