The 5th edition of Playcon was officially opened by Minister for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects Silvio Schembri, together with GamingMalta CEO Ivan Filetti.
Held at MFCC, Ta’ Qali, Playcon brings together stakeholders from the creative, educational, and esports industries. This year’s event welcomes over 25,000 visitors, 60 exhibitors, and an estimated 24 million online audience.
Minister Schembri highlighted that 400 students have already been trained in gaming development through MCAST and Unity courses, with 200 more expected next year — a clear step toward building Malta’s digital future.
Playcon is open to students on 9–10 October and to the public on 11–12 October, from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
