75% Work Completed on Major Infrastructure Project
75% of Wied iż-Żurrieq project completed
The Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleansing announced that 75% of the Wied iż-Żurrieq infrastructure project has been completed. The €3 million project aims to connect the area of Qrendi to the national sewage network for the first time.
Minister Miriam Dalli, together with the CEO of the Water Services Corporation Karl Cilia and members of the Qrendi Local Council, visited the site to view the ongoing works. The Minister explained that 1.5 kilometres of new drainage infrastructure have already been installed.
The project continues to progress steadily, with work being carried out both during the day and at night to ensure timely completion.
