Putin Blames the West for Ukraine’s Incursion into Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused Western nations of instigating Ukraine’s recent incursion into Russia’s Kursk region, marking a notable escalation in rhetoric from the Kremlin. The incursion, which has lasted for a week, has clearly unsettled Russian officials. Despite Moscow’s ongoing efforts to address the situation, its military operations in eastern Ukraine continue, according to Ukrainian military sources.

In a televised meeting with top officials, Putin condemned the West, asserting, “The West is fighting us with the hands of the Ukrainians.” He vowed a strong response, declaring that all Russian objectives would be achieved.

The acting governor of Kursk reported that Ukrainian forces had taken control of 28 towns and villages, advancing nearly 12 kilometers into Russian territory. In contrast, Ukraine’s military claims to have gained control over approximately 1,000 square kilometers of territory.
