Iran launched around 180 ballistic missiles at Israel in a major escalation of their ongoing conflict. The Israeli military reported that many of the missiles were intercepted by its defense systems, though some struck central and southern parts of the country. There were no reported casualties in Israel, but a Palestinian man in the West Bank was killed by falling debris.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed retaliation, calling Iran's attack a "big mistake" that would come with severe consequences. Iran’s top military official, Mohammad Bagheri, stated that the missiles specifically targeted Israeli military bases and Mossad’s headquarters, avoiding civilian areas. The missile strike followed the recent assassination of key leaders linked to Hamas and Hezbollah, events that Tehran claims prompted the attack.
