Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on European leaders in Brussels to rally behind his "victory plan" aimed at bringing an end to the war with Russia. The extent of the support from Ukraine's European allies remains unclear, but Zelensky emphasized that his country urgently needed their backing to move forward. A central element of his plan is Ukraine’s bid for NATO membership, which he presented as crucial for the nation's security.
“You all know Russia’s psychology,” Zelensky told the leaders. “Russia will resort to diplomacy only when it sees that it cannot achieve anything by force.”
