The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Anġlu Farrugia, met with Mr Fu Zijing, a member of the Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress of China, during his visit to Malta. The meeting aimed to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations between Malta and China.
Both dignitaries expressed a commitment to enhancing cultural cooperation and commercial ties between the two countries. Dr Farrugia emphasized the importance of fostering connections in sectors such as trade, education, and tourism.
The dialogue also touched on regional issues, highlighting the importance of stability and cooperation in the Mediterranean. Both parties reaffirmed their shared goals of addressing global challenges and enhancing dialogue on international affairs.
Dr Farrugia reiterated Malta's commitment to expanding its relationship with China, acknowledging the potential for greater cooperation in areas of common interest. The meeting concluded with a desire to deepen ties and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
