NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has urged member states to increase military aid to Ukraine, arguing that the country should delay peace negotiations with Russia until it achieves a stronger position on the battlefield.
Amid concerns over waning support for the war in parts of Europe and President-elect Donald Trump’s calls for a quick cease-fire that Kyiv fears could favor Moscow, Rutte emphasized the importance of bolstering Ukraine’s arsenal. He called for accelerated deliveries of weapons, ammunition, and air defenses to strengthen Ukraine’s leverage in future peace talks.
