Biden Defends Re-Election Bid Amid Growing Criticism

President Joe Biden launched a vigorous defense of his re-election campaign yesterday, addressing widespread concerns among Democrats about his candidacy. In a series of assertive moves, Biden called into a popular morning news show, sent a strongly-worded letter to Democratic members of Congress, and, during a fundraising call, outlined his strategy to confront Donald Trump.

“If any of these guys don’t think I should run, run against me,” Biden declared, challenging his critics. “Go ahead, announce for president. Challenge me at the convention.”

Facing dwindling support from Democratic lawmakers and growing fears of a potential defeat by Trump in November, Biden plans to hold a news conference, likely on Thursday, after hosting a NATO summit in Washington.

Regarding health concerns, official visitor logs reveal that a Parkinson’s disease expert visited the White House eight times from last summer to this spring. The White House did not confirm whether the expert consulted on Biden’s health but insisted that the president is not being treated for Parkinson’s.

On the Republican front, Trump has endorsed a draft party platform that moderates its stance on abortion while adopting more nationalistic and protectionist policies.
