U.S. Supreme Court Upholds Access to Abortion Pill

The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld broad access to mifepristone, a widely used abortion pill, rejecting efforts by anti-abortion organizations and doctors to challenge the drug's approval by federal regulators. The unanimous decision represents a significant setback for the anti-abortion movement, which aims to end all abortion in the country.

This ruling ensures that medication abortion, the most prevalent method in the U.S., remains accessible for the time being. However, it does not alter the existing restrictions on medication abortion in the 14 states that have near-total abortion bans.
