Netanyahu Disbands War Cabinet Amid Internal Disagreements

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dissolved his war cabinet following the resignations of key members Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot, who left last week due to disagreements over the strategy in Gaza. The dissolution of the five-member cabinet, influenced by demands from far-right politician Itamar Ben-Gvir for a seat, was largely seen as symbolic.

Major wartime decisions, including potential cease-fires, will now be made by a broader security cabinet. Netanyahu will also consult an informal group of advisers on critical military matters.

In related news, the Israeli military announced a pause in daytime operations in parts of southern Gaza to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid. However, this pause is limited to a specific road and does not cover central Gaza, where many displaced Palestinians have relocated following the Rafah invasion.
