Biden Faces Increasing Isolation Amid Party Rebellion

President Biden is experiencing growing isolation within his own party as he contends with a rebellion against his candidacy. He has turned to family members and a few loyalists for advice, individuals who steadfastly believe in his image as the “comeback kid.”

This reliance on a close-knit group has led to a standoff between Biden's inner circle and a significant portion of voters and elected Democrats who fear a potential electoral disaster in November. The recent attempted assassination of Donald Trump has lessened some of the pressure on Biden to withdraw from the race. However, weeks after a disastrous debate performance, the Democratic Party remains divided over his prospects and capabilities.

California Representative Adam Schiff, currently running for Senate, voiced his concerns during a private meeting with donors over the weekend. He warned, “We may very, very well lose the Senate and lose our chance to take back the House,” according to individuals familiar with his remarks.

In response, Democratic National Committee leaders are moving to confirm Biden as the party’s nominee by the end of July, according to insiders.

Despite a decrease in illegal border crossings in June, the lowest since January 2021, it is uncertain whether Biden will benefit politically from this development. Additionally, the President is seriously considering legislative proposals that could bring significant changes to the Supreme Court, including term limits and an enforceable code of ethics.
