Hamas to Skip Cease-Fire Talks Amid Rising Tensions

International mediators are set to arrive in the Middle East for crucial cease-fire negotiations scheduled for tomorrow, aimed at easing escalating tensions and averting a potential attack on Israel by Iran and Hezbollah. Despite these efforts, Hamas has announced it will not participate in the talks, citing a lack of faith in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government’s commitment to genuine negotiations.

Hamas’s absence casts a shadow over the potential for a breakthrough. However, sources familiar with the discussions indicate that Hamas remains open to engaging with mediators after the meeting, provided Israel presents a "serious response" to Hamas’s latest proposal from early July.
